Sophie grew up in West Hollywood and was interested in neuroscience. Sophie talked about how she “was really interested in how the brain worked”. While attending Santa Monica College, she was working at Brandi Melville and was planning to transfer to USC. Sophie was making good grades and wanted to study neuropsychology at the top rated USC, however while she was ‘going to school, and I got a DM from Frankie’s Bikinis saying, ‘We’d love to use you for a photo shoot for our instagram’,” she recounts. Sophie agreed, having only one thousand followers on her sophiemudd Instagram at that time, she “gained a hundred thousand followers from the shoot, which was absolutely insane to me”.

She posted on Instagram for the very first time in 2013 and really took off between the years of 2013 to 2015. Sophie shares how her boyfriend would shoot photos of her at the designer clothing warehouse were they both worked, and posted them to her social media. Brands then started to reach out to work with her. Sophie’s following on social media would then go up. Sophie was like “this could really be a business,” which was “fun at the same time”.

Sophie called the job “super easy,” and what followed “the weirdest thing ever, totally unexpected”. Sophie Mudd had notably appeared in a bts photoshoot with Brittany Roughton in 2017, as per IMDb. In 2018, was asked to model for Yeezy for the showroom at the Paris and New York Fashion Weeks. By then, Sophie had gained two million Instagram followers and over six hundred and fifty thousand followers on X. She had gone from a teenage instagram star to a famous online model and personage. Sophie Mudd’s characteristic vibe and curated lifestyle and travel vlogs as well as glam modeling pics, had generated a lot of interest. Sophie’s instagram has well over two and a half million followers. Sophie’s casual lifestyle snapshots mixed with her more professional modeling shoots, keep her authentic and relatable to followers. She has brand partnerships and worked with brands such as Skims, Frankie’s Bikinis and Alo Yoga. Sophie had appeared in “In Real Life with Sophie Mudd” in 2021 with host Casey Boonstra. In Real Life is a documentary style series exploring the stories and lives of top creators. In 2023, Sophie had ventured into acting when she debuted in HBO and A24’s limited series, “The Idol”. She was an extra in the show, but due to Sophie’s raw acting talent she soon caught the attention of the show’s creators.

Including Reza Fahim, Abel Tesfaye a.k.a The Weeknd, and the creator of Euphoria Sam Levinson saw something in her. As a result, Sophie Mudd had an original character written into the series. Sophie was cast as a character who shared the same name as her, that is an underground cult member led by Abel Tesfaye. “I feel like the luckiest person in the world,” Sophie said, “it’s so cool that this worked out the way that it did. I found through this process that I really love acting, and it’s something that I want to pursue more.” Sophie fit so well as part of the cast that she ended up having a significant part in episode four of ‘The Idol’. Sophie had appeared in three episodes of ‘The Idol”. Sophie confides how she was really shy growing up and that she was always really creative and loved art.

Sophie shared how being in ‘The Idol’ “pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible”. Furthermore, she said that “I learned that acting is something I’m truly passionate about and would like to pursue”. About her future acting prospects, Sophie said that “working on a horror movie would be really cool”. Sophie was “taking as many acting classes as possible and just really focusing on my craft. I don’t want to place myself in a certain box. l’m really open to doing whatever comes my way”. In an interview with Authority magazine, titled “The five things you need to shine in the entertainment industry,” Sophie talks about how she nurtures her body, overall well-being and how she stays grounded. Sophie says that “when it comes to nurturing my body, mind, and heart, I find that working out really helps me. Whether it’s going for a walk, attending a workout class, or training with a personal trainer, it helps me clear my head. I don’t know if it’s the endorphins, but it makes me feel really good and benefits my overall well-being. As for the mind, spirit, and body, taking baths is something I find incredibly peaceful. I also have regular conversations with my mom and dad, as I’m very close to them.

Whenever I feel like I’m being too hard on myself, I call them up. I know they’ll be honest with me, so talking to them and seeking their advice is really helpful. Getting good advice from others is beneficial for my mind and soul”. Taking about her ‘The Idol” costar, Sophie Mudd said “I want Lily-Rose Depp to give me acting lessons,” and how “she’s just so free spirited, so sure of herself, and confident in her character. It was so beautiful to watch her process”. Sophie’s acting and social media intersect. Sophie’s popularity got her noticed and led to being messaged directly by ‘The Idol’ creator Sam Levinson for the extra role, without an audition. She then became part of the cast, based on sheer talent and ability.

Sophie’s multifaceted talent as an original creator is evident in all of her endeavors. This is reflective in her acting, content creation and modeling, which has allowed her to engage her audience. In the episode of IRL with Sophie Mudd and Casey Boonstra, go to the gym to learn fight stunts for movies. They learn the three types of hits, the ‘SnapBack,” the “swing through,” and “the linear”. The three elements that can be applied in a sequence for the fight scene. The instructor shows her how to wind back out a bit to take a punch and then how to swing. Sophie confides how this was a first for her as she mastered the moves.

Then she learns how to stage the fight sequence just right, while keeping the camera angles in mind. So acting and reacting is really important. They then have a chance to practice the stunts which they just learned on camera. On her Sophie Mudd YouTube channel bio (@sophiamudd) , she is a self described ‘skincare addict’ who loves cooking, fashion, adventure and anime. In a video titled ‘Sunday farmers market GRWM,’ as she goes to get fresh ingredients for cooking. Sophie confides how much she loves cooking and is looking forward to go shopping at Palmers farmers market in Los Angeles. As she is putting on her skincare, Sophie gives a shout out to Courtney Kardashian’s new probiotic supplement ‘let me purr’ for girls. Sophie then applies some light Charlotte Tillbury concealer and the beauty light blush in pinkgasm, as she confides that she has been using the blush since it came out. It is the only beauty product from her routine, which Sophie has not switched out and loves how it just lasts all day. Sophie is really into how natural and pretty it looks. Next up she puts on the Sephora bronzer which she just bought yesterday, called the hoola caramel bronzer. Sophie shares how she never used this bronzer before and how hard it is for her to find a good bronzer overall, because her skin is so fair.

Sophie is even considering going to a tanning bed to get some even, all over color for the summer. She always burns and it is hard for her to tan, and thought that a quick session in a tanning bed will get her tanned faster. She doesn’t like when the bronzer looks, fake, overdone and chunky, so it is hard for her to choose it. She is using her new Shiseido eyelash curler, and is amazed at how different curled and un curled lashes look. Sophie has just been curling her lashes and feels how mascara really is unnecessary, when you use a curler. She finishes up her natural, summer glow look with the ‘wherever walnut lipliner’ and the ‘cherry summer friday lip butter’ have been her go to favorite lip combo. This lip combo really compliments her skin tone. Sophie then proceeds to demonstrate how she applies the product. She over-lines her lips to make a cupids bow and the bottom of the lip with the lipliner, and then just applies a dab of lip butter. The look is easy, effortless and natural. Sophie’s ‘glass skin products’ video is a skincare tutorial on how to achieve “glass skin”.

The Korean skincare tutorial is a step by step, all you need for glowy skin. She recommends the ‘watermide’ moisture pads from mediheal, which can be used both day and night. Sophie leaves the pads on for five minutes and uses the pads as a sheet mask. She advises how it is necessary to use hyaluronic acid if you want beautiful, nice plump glowy skin. Hyaluronic acid is like a gel and it gives you nice, plump collagen filled skin. Next step is a good toner, and Sophie swears by Beauty of Josean AHA BHA green plum refreshing toner. She uses the toner in the morning and evening, and Sophie recommends it for texture and acne issues due to the aha and bha content. The toner can be used under makeup, and it won’t pile. She recommends a powder enzyme wash instead of a cleansing balm, to deep clean and prevent the buildup of oil, which using a cleansing balm causes. That buildup of oil is what usually leads to blackheads. She mixes the powder with water to make a paste, after washing her face, and applies it to her skin. It can be used as a spot treatment and it gets rid of black heads. Her ultimate go to Korean skincare product to achieve glass skin is the Cellcure sheep’s placenta cream. The cream works wonders due to it being filled with collagen and stem cells, which gives you firm skin which is elastic, super youthful, plump skin that “bounces back”. She advises putting the cream on your neck and chest. The stem cells in the sheep’s placenta cream give you that dewy glass skin look, and since this is a really rich cream, Sophie only uses it in the nighttime. Next she goes in with a barrier repair cream which can be used under makeup and sunscreen, which is a light moisture. The white truffle oil spray from D’Alba is perfect for a glow and hydration, which can be used in the morning and evening under and over make up.

These are the skincare steps which Sophie used to achieve her glow up. In another YouTube video, Sophie reviews the complete ‘SKNN’ Kim Kardashian skincare line. Sophie was really excited to try it and reviews the products with her mom, who is an aesthetician and gives her a facial with the products. The whole SKNN skincare line retails for $575 plus tax making the total out to be $630 dollars. Sophie bought the complete line to review. She unboxes the set to reveal that it came with five samples. Sophie gives the skincare set a ten out of ten for the packaging and the neutral pretty aesthetics, which you would want to display on your counter top. She gushes over the beautiful aesthetics of the package design. The first product is a cleanser, and then the hyaluronic acid serum, there is also a vitamin C serum, oil drops, vitamin C glow drops, night oil, face cream and the plumping eye cream. The box set is a complete facial skincare line.

Her mother Lynn gives her a professional facial incorporating all of the products from the line. Her mother approves the cleanser for how nice it feels. Then she applies the vitamin C 8 serum, which her mom recommends as a a good antioxidant for skin brightness. Then her mom combines the oil drops and the hyaluronic acid for hydration, which her mom says feels really good on. After applying the eye cream under eye and the eye lids, her mom likes how thick it is and it smells great. She highly recommends the skincare line based on how good it makes her skin feel. “It is giving spa”. In a honest review, Sophie would like less scent and maybe a good mask to complete the line and an ingredient list,  because she has sensitive skin and has to be careful. Overall she thinks the line is amazing.
